Infection of quiescent cells by human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) elicits severe cell cycle deregulation resulting in a G1/S arrest, which can be partly attributed to the inactivation of the anaphase-promoting complex (APC). Various anti-CMV antibodies against ICP36, ICP8, UL83 and pp28 were used in a recent study, addressing the question what causes this effect. The results suggest that a viral early gene product is involved in APC degradation.

Adiponectin: Plasma biomarker for osteonecrosis of the femoral head
